Greek Center for Silver and Goldsmithing S.A. (ELKA)

The Greek Centre for Silver and Goldsmithing S.A. (ELKA) was founded in 1989 by EOMMEX and the Manufacturing Association of Silver- and Goldsmiths of Attica (now the Association of Manufacturing Silver- and Goldsmiths).
Based in Athens (Greece), at 35 Voulis street, ELKA ensures practical and harmonious cooperation between the state and the Silver-and Goldsmithing sector. It is in close
cooperation with POVACO.
According to the articles of association, the objectives of ELKA are:

To provide specialist knowledge on issues of technical assistance, technical services, briefing, technical know-how.
To undertake the preparation of feasability studies.
To conduct market research at a national and an international level in order to promote the sector's products.
To organize seminars and exhibitions, and to publish printed matter.
To organize educational programmes for small and medium-size enterprises in the sector.
To support and promote the design of products.
To collaborate with public bodies, educational institutions, businesses and financing organizations, in order to further industrial development of the sector.
To collaborate with businesses or bodies with similar objectives, at home and abroad.
To organize a Precious Metals Quality Control Laboratory; in order to comply with the compulsory implementation of the relevant EU directive, the laboratory assays noble metals and issues a hallmark.
Lastly, to support every activity that contributes directly or indirectly to the development of the Silver-and Goldsmithing sector.
